MSPL has consistently embraced technology that is environment friendly.
To help reduce pollution that might be caused by our operations, we have introduced:
A downhill conveyor system at VIOM that reduces road haulage and related emissions, as well as dust generation.
Wet drilling and Dry drilling with a dust extraction system, to help reduce dust generation.
We have constructed gully plugs and check bunds across streams flowing through our mine lease areas to help reduce soil erosion and related water pollution and contain all runoff within our mine lease area, with only clear water being discharged.
We regularly monitor noise levels using decibel meters at pre-determined locations in our operations areas
Crushers and screens are covered to help reduce decibel levels.
Heavy machinery and dumpers operating in our mines comply to Euro II standard noise-level requirements.
We have put in place systems that we hope will help us to recover 100% of the minerals available through systematic mining, processing and stocking of minerals under our “Zero-Waste Management” plan.
As part of the mining process, the ore we process has other minerals present. As we implement Zero Waste Management, we plan to develop or adapt our processing plants to make 100% recovery of Iron Ore.
We have also identified several minerals which may have alternative uses and are working to implement sales of these minerals.
